The Liberty Seminar is a coalition of the Institute for Economic Studies Europe (IES), Classic Liberal Flemish Student Organization (LVSV), the Mises Youth Club (MY), Ludwig Von Mises Institute Europe (LVMI) and the Foundation for Humane Education (FHE).
The aim of The Institute for Economic Studies Europe is to stand at the center of a worldwide network of students, scholars and other intellectuals. Since 1989, the Institute, a non profit organization registered in the state of Virginia, has aimed at discovering, developing and supporting the most outstanding people it could find among students, scholars and other intellectuals who share an interest in exploring and applying the principles of classical liberalism. For that purpose, IES uses or supports three different tools of teaching or of research. Every year we organize summer seminars somewhere in Europe, a summer university in Aix-en-Provence, France, and sponsors researchers or translations of major books.

The LVSV is an independent liberal studentorganisation in Flanders, Belgium with branches in Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent and Leuven. We are independent from all political parties and government institutions so we can be eternally vigilant and always encourage the ideological debate. Because of this the LVSV has become known as the most critical and most steadfast of all liberal youth organisations in Flanders. Many great liberal leaders are former members of the LVSV and because of our independence our voice is recognised as the objective liberal conscience of liberal politics.
The LVSV does not restrict liberalism to one particular interpretation, but has a classical-liberal underflow. As a result internal discussions are frequent and vivid. This has shown us the value of debate and the need to be critical, even about our core ideas and most favourite philosophers. But the ultimate goal of the LVSV, next to educating ourselves and continuously questioning our own beliefs, is to spread the liberal ideas and test them in debates with people who have different convictions.
To this end we organise political debates, speeches by policy makers, visits to government institutions, debates between students, seminars and publish 4 local magazines. All of this in an atmosphere of mutual respect, critical tought and a deep commitment to liberty..

The aim of the Foundation for Humane Education is to get youngsters involved in the social and political debate and educate them in political and social debate techniques. We also aim to give them a thorough basis in political philosophy. A strong emphasis is made upon the classical liberal ideas and the free market system.
By organising seminars, discussion groups, non formal debates, etc the foundation tries to promote these core values and educates youngsters who are willing to understand society and are eager to help shape it.
